A native of Gulf Breeze Florida Dr. Jason W. Thackeray joined Orthopaedic Associates in 2002. Dr. Thackeray specializes in ankle, elbow, foot, fracture care, hand, hip, joint replacement, knee, shoulder, sports medicine, and wrist. Dr. Thackeray received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed an internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Shands Hospital at The University of Florida. When he is not seeing patients, he enjoys golfing, hunting, boating, training, traveling, participating in charity work, and spending time with his family. As a former athlete, he enjoys serving as a team physician for Fort Walton High School and the Fort Walton Beach Falcons.

Dr. James Watt earned his medical degree from Des Moines University of Medicine Surgery in 2006. He completed residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Doctors Hospital in Ohio in 2011.Dr. Watt is on Medical Staff at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and specializes in Orthopedic Surgery and Surgery of the Hand.

I take pride in listening to how the patient is being affected by their ailment. I make sure the patient understands their diagnosis, taking as much time as they need to answer their questions and give them all conservative and surgical options that will fit their needs. It is my goal to use surgery only as a last resort when appropriate. Orthopedic problems affect people differently, depending on their age, medical conditions, occupation, hobbies and lifestyle. There are usually multiple correct treatments depending on those variables, and I strive to help my patients make treatment decisions that are right for their individual needs.
