Dr. Strutt relocated to Denver after completing two Fellowships in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando (Orlando Regional Medical Center) in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Strutt completed his General Surgery Residency at Stamford Hospital/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Strutt received his medical degree from Saba University, and undergraduate degree from Northeastern University. Originally from South Africa, Dr. Strutt moved to the United States when he was in high school. Dr. Strutt specializes in colon and rectal surgery, with an emphasis on cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and diverticulitis. He offers broad experience in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, as well as traditional surgery. Dr. Strutt also performs colonoscopies and manages all aspects of anal rectal diseases, including hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, and fecal incontinence. Dr. Strutt has published and presented nationally on the surgical treatment of various colorectal diseases.

Dr. Modanlou's professional interests include all aspects of general surgery and complex problems of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas including minimally invasive techniques. He strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to complex medical problems and personalization of the patient experience.

My passion for my field revolves my ability to participate in all aspects of colorectal cancer diagnosis, management , and cure. I enjoy doing colonoscopies for screening and surveillance purposes and I have worked hard to find the best care teams to make the experience as positive as possible. Specifically for my cancer patients, I strongly believe in a multidisciplinary role of guiding my patients with appropriate oncologist referrals, radiologic procedures, and treatment plans. This is a highly individualized process and my focus is to do treat every patient's situation uniquely as each patient has many factors relating to their diagnosis.With all my patients, I believe that the two most important things I can provide are compassion and empathy. My focus is humanizing the patient interaction to offer a safe and more comfortable environment for my patients. If I can accomplish that, I know that I can provide a successful and positive experience for my patients, no matter what the medical issue is.

My focus is to always treat the patient not just the disease. I've told people many times that I value quality of life as highly as the quantity of life. Therefore, I use every resource at my disposal to address the problems. When treating neuroendocrine cancer, it is absolutely imperative to approach it with a multi-disciplinary approach because it crosses into so many different medical subspecialties. When we are successful, these people can live good, healthy lives. I find that giving the patient time and respect are critical to developing a sense of trust, because it is a team effort with the patient in the center. Our goal at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center is to build a home for neuroendocrine patients, where they can feel comfortable that everyone has experience in this rare disease and all their questions can be answered. By having the most advanced expertise, imaging techniques, clinical trials, and treatments available all in one center, we can provide patients with the best hope for a healthy life.

Dr. Brown is a Denver native and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington for his undergraduate degree and the University of Colorado for medical school. Dr. Brown did his General Surgery Residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He completed Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at Creighton University in Omaha. Dr. Brown has been specializing in Colon and Rectal Surgery since 2002. He treats colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease. He performs colonoscopy and manages all aspects of anal disease such as hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, and fecal incontinence. Dr. Brown was named one of Denver's ``Top Doctors`` by 5280 Magazine in 2006.

Dr. Baer is a native of Colorado. He attended Cherry Creek High School and graduated at the top of his class. He went on to attend Harvard University and received his degree in Biology, with honors. While at Harvard, he was awarded the Harvard Scholarship for three consecutive years while maintaining a job and being a four-year varsity athlete. He graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Dr. Baer completed his surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While completing this 5 year program, he was also a flight physician for MedFlight, a helicopter rescue/transport service. Following his residency program, he completed a fellowship at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, in Gloucester, England. Upon completion of this program, Dr. Baer returned home and has been practicing general surgery in South Denver since 1992. Dr. Baer's professional interests include, gastrointestinal surgery, cancer surgery, breast surgery, hernia surgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He has special interests in endocrine surgery including minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as laparoscopic adrenalectomy. Dr. Baer was the Porter Adventist Hospital Chairman of the Surgery Department for 5 years and President-elect for 3 years. He is finishing up his 3 year service as President.Dr. Baer is married with two teenage daughters. He enjoys all outdoor activities particularly running and snow-shoeing. Without a doubt, his greatest enjoyment is attending his daughter's various sporting activities.

Dr. Boris Sepesi, MD, FACS is a board-certified surgeon, certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery with extensive expertise and experience in the comprehensive treatment of thoracic and upper gastrointestinal oncological diagnoses, specifically lung cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, chest wall tumors, tracheal and airway tumors, thymomas, thymic carcinomas, mesothelioma and other thoracic oncological diagnoses. His unique training, knowledge and research interests in immunotherapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy and clinical trials enable him to offer consultation and recommendations for multi-disciplinary perioperative therapy for complex thoracic oncologic diagnoses that require surgical management.From surgical standpoint, Dr. Sepesi is highly experienced in all surgical techniques: minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), robotic assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) as well as complex open surgical techniques for the surgical treatment of thoracic and upper gastrointestinal malignancies. He personalizes treatment, surgical decisions and patient care based on the symptoms, diagnosis, disease stage, disease extent, body type, and patients' preferences to achieve the most optimal short-term and long-term outcomes and quality of life.Along with his extensive expertise in the treatment of thoracic oncological diagnoses, he also manages patients with benign and infectious thoracic and esophageal diseases such as esophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernias, esophageal motility disorders, pleural infections, pneumothorax, or undiagnosed pulmonary nodules and ground glass opacities.
