Biography: Shalin Arnett, DO is committed to providing comprehensive care to women throughout all stages of their lives. Her clinical interests include both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, infertility, annual gynecological care and managing conditions such as abnormal periods, menopause, abnormal pap smears, STD screening, birth control and BRCA screening. Dr. Arnett attended medical school at Kansas City University and is board-certified by the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology. She chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology because she enjoys taking care of women throughout their lives and witnessing the growth of their families over the years. Her decision to practice at Riverview Health was influenced by its proximity to her family and its welcoming culture. In her practice, Dr. Arnett strives to provide efficient and thorough care, understanding the busy schedules of her patients. She aims to ensure that women receive the care they need in a manner that fits well into their lives.

Care Philosophy: ``I see myself as more of as an educator, as a link between what's out there in medicine right now and what the patient knows. So when a patient comes to me with an issue, I work to inform them on what we know about the condition and the treatment options that are now available. I want to be the expert for them, providing the information they need, but I want my patients to be a large part of the decision-making process regarding their care.``

Biography: Dr. Batler was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois, where he received his BA in Psychology. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He completed his Urology residency at Northwestern University. He has a strong research background, which began as an undergraduate where he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Cell Biology at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. During medical school he was a Research Assistant in the Department of Genetics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois and was awarded the NIH Intramural Training Grant in which he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Endocrine Physiology at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Batler joined Urology of Indiana in July 2003. He enjoys golf and reef aquariums. He is married and has three children.
