Biography: Dr. Merkler is a native New Yorker who received his undergraduate degree from Brown University where he graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Merkler earned his medical degree from New York University where he received the prestigious Rosenbluth Grant for international laboratory research. Dr. Merkler completed residency in neurology at the Weill Cornell Medical College and served as the Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Merkler then completed a two-year fellowship in neurocritical care at Columbia University / Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Merkler is board certified in Neurology and Neurocritical Care. Dr. Merkler is an expert in stroke and acute brain and spine injury. Dr. Merkler has authored more than 100 publications in peer reviewed medical journals on neurological disorders. Dr. Merkler also serves as a peer reviewer for several medical journals including JAMA, Neurology, Stroke, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and Hypertension. Dr. Merkler is currently funded by a Career Development Award from the American Heart Association and a Weill Cornell Medicine Grant to study the neurological complications of Covid-19. He is a past recipient of a KL2 award from the NIH and the Leon Levy Fellowship.

Biography: Dr. Santosh Murthy currently serves as an Associate Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College and is also the Associate Chief of the Division of Neurocritical Care at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell. Dr. Murthy earned his medical degree from Bangalore Medical College in India. He completed his Neurology residency from Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as chief resident. He subsequently went on to do a fellowship in Neurocritical Care at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also has a Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas. Dr. Murthy is board certified in Neurology. He is the author of numerous publications and the recipient of several awards and scholarships.

Biography: Baxter Ballantine Allen, MD, a neurologist and neurocritical care specialist, is an attending neurologist and neurointensivist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Queens, and an assistant professor of clinical neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Board certified in neurology, Dr. Allen has a special focus on stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, seizures, and neurological conditions.Active in research, Dr. Allen is currently studying traumatic brain injury leading to post-traumatic epilepsy, effective therapies for head injuries, and the detection of seizures. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology,the American Epilepsy Society, and the Neurocritical Care Society, and sits on the medical advisory board for Women's Voices For Change.Dr. Allen has published research articles, editorials, reviews, and abstracts in various medical journals, including Neurocritical Care, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, and Neurosurgery, and has presented at annual conferences and medical meetings.After graduating from Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Allen remained at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine to serve his internship, neurology residency, and clinical neurophysiology fellowship. He completed his neurocritical care fellowship training at the David Geffen School of Medicineat UCLA.
