Biography: Carlos Palacio, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with Coastal New Hampshire Neurosurgeons and sees patients in Portsmouth as well as at Advanced Spine and Orthopedics in Gilford, New Hampshire. Dr. Palacio earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Medical Center and completed his residency in general neurosurgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He then completed specialized training in pediatric neurosurgery at Children's Memorial Hospital, in Chicago, where he served as chief resident. Prior to medical school, Dr. Palacio earned his undergraduate degree at the College of the Holy Cross. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has more than 40 years of experience in the field of neurosurgery. Dr. Palacio is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. In 1987, he co-founded Coastal New Hampshire Neurosurgeons, the first comprehensive neurosurgical program of its kind in the region. Dr. Palacio provides advanced neurosurgical diagnoses, individualized treatment options, and recovery plans related to conditions of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system.
