Biography: Medicine is a second career for Dr. Nathan Givens, one that he finds very fulfilling and one that provides the teamwork that he he felt was missing in his first job. He feels fortunate to participate in some of the most amazing and challenging moments in women's lives. Obstetrics and gynecology is a specialty that allows Dr. Givens to establish lasting relationships with his patients. He loves everything from counseling adolescents and young couples about contraception and preventive care, to helping women with abnormal bleeding and pelvic pain, and working closely with families to welcome their new babies. In his free time Dr. Givens enjoys spending time with his wife and children. They love to go for walks and traveling together.

Biography: Dr. Avery-Benjamin's experiences as a young teen on the labor and delivery floor in a hospital volunteer program helped shape her passion for providing excellent care for women and children. During her residency, she received awards for excellence in teaching and administration, as well as an award from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists for special excellence in endoscopic procedures. Dr. Avery is interested in teen and young woman wellness, preventive healthcare and minimally invasive surgery techniques. In her free time, Dr. Avery enjoys spending time with her husband, Derek, and their daughter, traveling, relaxing on the beach, reading, listening to music and participating in community service.

Biography: I am a specialty trained surgeon and urogynecologist with experience treating women's health problems, including pelvic organ prolapse, uterine prolapse, cystoceles and rectoceles. I also specialize in treating bothersome bladder issues, including urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. \n Following a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, I completed a three-year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (urogynecology). My training combines elements of gynecology, urology and pelvic reconstructive surgery. This allows me to provide comprehensive treatment options that can improve a woman's quality of life. \n When surgery is necessary, I specialize in a minimally invasive approach, which leads to faster recovery, less pain and a shorter hospital stay. I am committed to using the latest and most effective treatments available and to providing exceptional care to my patients. \n My aim is to listen to and work with patients to help them make an informed decision regarding their pelvic health, with a goal of ultimately improving their quality of life.
