Biography: Douglas E. Politz, MD, is one of the most experienced parathyroid surgeons in the world, having performed over 8,000 parathyroidectomies. Biography: Dr. Adam Golas is a board-certified bariatric surgeon specializing in weight loss and minimally invasive surgery procedures. He is dedicated to liberating patients from obesity and the diseases associated with obesity by providing the most advanced treatments in a caring and nurturing environment. Dr. Golas has overcome much adverity in his life and with that approaches every patient encounter with humility, sincerity, and respect. Biography: Dr. Sotomayor is the director of the newly established Cancer Institute at Tampa General Hospital. He is a pioneer in the field of cancer immunology and immunotherapy and an internationally renowned expert in lymphoma research and treatment. Prior to joining Tampa General, he was the director of the George Washington University Cancer Center with responsibility and authority over all aspects of cancer care and research at GW and affiliated health systems. He was also a professor of medicine in the division of hematology/oncology at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Sotomayor specializes in the treatment of lymphomas and leukemias. The accomplished physician-scientist's ongoing research is directed toward cancer immunology and immunotherapy with special focus in developing novel immune-based approaches for the treatment of lymphomas and other hematologic malignancies. Considered as a world expert in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), he has more than 140 publications including seminal discoveries published in top tier journals such as Nature Immunology, Nature Medicine, Blood, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Cancer Cell among others. He has been the recipient of several awards, including the recipient of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) CURE Lifetime Achievement award in 2017. Dr. Sotomayor is involved in several major medical societies and organizations and currently is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, Lymphoma Research Foundation, member of the Executive Committee of the Mantle Cell Lymphoma Consortium and member of several committees of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). He has also served in committees at the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI)

Biography: Dr. Noman Ashraf, MD is an Oncology Specialist who practices in Tampa, FL. He is 45 years old. Dr. Noman Ashraf, MD is affiliated with Tampa General Hospital and Tampa General Hospital.

Biography: Dr. Pearson completed her medical degree and a residency in general surgery at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. During her residency she was awarded TGH Resident of the Month by the TGH nursing staff. Dr. Pearson went on to complete a fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery at Tampa General Medical Group where she gained extensive surgical experience. She is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Pearson has been involved in research activities including complications of renal transplantation and innovations in dialysis access, presenting her research at national conferences.

Biography: Marian Porubsky, M.D., is a board-certified general surgeon and transplant surgeon. He is fully-trained in all aspects of abdominal transplant surgery including liver, kidney and pancreas transplants as well as laparoscopic donor nephrectomies. He also specializes in the surgical treatment of diseases of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas. A native of Slovakia, Dr. Porubsky completed his medical training at Komensky University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He has worked at a number of universities and hospitals around the world including surgery departments in Slovakia, Germany, Illinois, Indiana and Arizona. He is a member of The United Network for Organ Sharing, The American Society for Transplant Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons and The American Medical Association.

Biography: Dr. Huang is a fellowship-trained abdominal organ transplant surgeon. and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and completed his residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Huang then went on to complete a fellowship with the LifeLink Transplant Institute in Tampa. He currently serves as the surgical director of renal transplantation for Tampa General Medical Group and is the vice chief of general surgery at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Huang also holds an affiliate assistant professor appointment from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, department of surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, basketball, violin and photography. Dr. Huang is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, Spanish and French.

Care Philosophy: Dr Vania Phuoc is an Assistant Member in the Moffitt Cancer Center Department of Medical Oncology and practices at Moffitt at Wesley Chapel. Dr Phuoc received her MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She completed a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of South Florida/Moffitt Cancer Center, where she also served as Chief Fellow for the James A Haley Veterans' Hospital. Dr Phuoc's clinical focuses are benign and malignant hematology and breast cancers.

Care Philosophy: Dr Haider is an Associate Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center and an Associate Professorof Oncologic Sciences at University of South Florida. Dr Haider received her Bachelor of Science as well as her Medical Degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA followed by Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center - University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Dr Haider's clinical practice is focused on neuroendocrine tumor (NET) oncology. As a member of the Endocrine Program Multidisciplinary team, she also treats paraganglioma and pheochromocytoma.
