Biography: Dr. Collins was raised in Southwest Florida, obtained his Bachelor Degree at the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) and his Medical Degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine (St. Louis, MO).Following graduation from medical school he moved to Gainesville and completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida, followed by a year as Chief Resident at the Malcolm Randall VAMC. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Florida in 2005 and then joined the faculty of the Gastroenterology Division, focusing on endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic ablation of Barrett's esophagus, and capsule endoscopy, in addition to general Gastroenterology. For the last four years, he has served as Section Chief for Gastroenterology at the Malcolm Randall VAMC and Clinical Assistant Professor at UF Health. Dr. Collins joined Digestive Disease Associates in September 2014.

Biography: Dr. Molina joined Digestive Disease Associates in 2003 after serving for seven years on the medical faculty at the University of Miami, where he was active in clinical research, patient care, liver transplantation, and the fellowship training program at the Center for Liver Diseases. Dr. Molina earned his medical degree in his native city of Maracaibo, Venezuela, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Miami, where he served as chief medical resident. He also completed fellowships in Hepatology at the Center for Liver Diseases and Gastroenterology at the University of Miami in 1994. Dr. Molina has a special interest in viral hepatitis as well as other liver and biliary tract diseases. He is board certified in Gastroenterology.

Biography: Dr. Mitchell Duterte, MD is a Gastroenterology Specialist who practices in Lake City, FL. He is 56 years old. Dr. Mitchell Duterte, MD is affiliated with HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.

Biography: Dr. Perbtani was born in Miami, FL and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University (Davie, Florida). Following graduation from medical school, he moved to Gainesville and completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Florida in 2019. He then completed an 18-month fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at the University of Florida where he focused on minimally invasive interventional endoscopic procedures such as per oral endoscopic myotomy and endoscopic submucosal dissection.Dr. Perbtani joined Digestive Disease Associates in January 2021. His clinical and professional interest is on the diagnosis and treatment of pancreaticobiliary diseases and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He specializes in acute and chronic pancreatitis, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), ERCP and cholangioscopy, endoscopic mucosal and submucosal dissection of complex polyps, endoscopic suturing, luminal stenting and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Biography: Dr. Thanawala is a board certified Gastroenterologist who started her practice Gastroenterology Associates, in Lake City, Florida in 1997. She completed her Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at Nassau County Medical Center, Stony Brook University, Long Island, New York in 1997. Dr. Thanawala completed medical school in Bombay, India at Grant Medical College in 1989. Prior to her medical training in New York, Dr. Thanawala did research in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Southern California. Dr. Thanawala enjoys gastroenterology and performs endoscopic procedures at the Lake City Surgery Center and the Lake City Medical Center. Dr. Thanawala is board certified in Gastroenterology and is an affiliated member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association. She is also the Medical Director at the Lake City Surgery Center and is on the Board of Trustees at the Indian Cultural and Education Center in Gainesville, Florida.
