Biography: Dr. Lin received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Taipei Medical University. After concluding his internship and general surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh Children Hospital and microvascular surgery training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he completed thoracic surgery residency at Ohio State University Hospital and cardiac surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic. In Rochester, Minnesota he was deeply immersed in the covenant that rooted from Dr. William Mayo's Hippocratic tradition: The best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered To apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required To remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife To respect privacy of the patients. After his cardiac surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Lin started his practice in San Diego. He was accepted as fellow of American College of Surgeons, American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians and Society of Thoracic Surgeons. His board certifications included: American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Lin has participated in over 5000 heart operations. Since moving to San Diego, he had performed more than 2500 beating heart bypass surgeries without the need of heart lung machine. His surgical expertise include complex structural heart surgery, surgery for arrhythmia, surgery for great vessels, high risk coronary artery bypass, and thoracic surgery including lung cancer and video-assisted procedures.
