Biography: I grew up in Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. I attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee, getting my undergraduate degree in Chemistry. I then went to medical school at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis Tennessee. I did my Pediatric residency at T C Thompson Children's Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I was a Captain in the Air Force for 3 years as a Pediatric Clinic Physician at Barksdale Air Force Base before joining this clinic in 1997. I am married with 3 children, and we live in Bossier City. I love to travel, exercise and read.

Biography: D. Gene Mack, Jr., MD, is a pediatrician at Pierremont Pediatrics in Shreveport, Louisiana. Biography: I have been practicing general pediatrics in the Shreveport area for more than 25 years. I am of Indian origin and went to medical school at the Christian Medical College (an American mission institution) in Punjab, India. I did my Pediatric Internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital at University of Miami in Florida. I then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee with my husband and completed my Pediatric Residency there. This was followed by 2 years of Ambulatory Pediatric Fellowship at Cleveland's Case Western University. I am Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, and I was re-certified in 1997 and 2009 and MOC Cerified in 2014. I live with my husband, who is a practicing Cardiologist in Shreveport. We have two sons, one living in Washington, DC. with his wife, and the other living in California. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and cooking for friends and family.

Biography: Dr. Halim Abou-Faycal is certified in Infectious Diseases Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Since his graduation from medical school in June of 2000, Dr. Abou-Faycal has continued to pursue advanced training in internal medicine and infectious diseases medicine. He practiced at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Tennessee, where he rose to Senior resident. In July of 2004, Dr. Abou-Faycal began his fellowship training in infectious diseases at The University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center, during which he received specialized training in treating infections in bone marrow and solid organ cancer and transplant patients. Before coming to Willis-Knighton Health System in 2012, Dr. Abouy-Faycal served as Chairman of Infection Control and Medical Director for the infectious diseases department at St. Edwards Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He lives in Shreveport with his wife and two children.
