Biography: Dr. Salih received his undergraduate degree in 2003 from Baylor University, majoring in Bioinformatics. He earned a PhD in Genetics from Texas A&M University in 2008, with a research focus in genomics and computational biology. He is both a contributing author and primary author of numerous publications in genomics-based sciences. Dr. Salih was awarded the Spirit of the Program Award as a resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical center. After completing training in Internal Medicine, he completed fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2018. Dr. Salih treats both benign and malignant hematology along with all solid tumor cancer types, with a particular interest in genitourinary, lung and gastrointestinal malignancies.

Biography: Dr. Steven Kalter is a medical oncologist and hematologist in private practice in San Antonio, Texas with the START Center. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in medical oncology from MD Anderson Hospital in Houston and completed his fellowship in hematology from Baylor College of Medicine. Biography: Dr. Amanda Bucheit is board certified in oncology and hematology and is currently practicing with the START Center at their Sonterra location. A native of Boone, Iowa, Dr. Bucheit received a bachelor's degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. After working in molecular research at the Mayo Clinic, she went on to earn her medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was followed by fellowship training in hematology and oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. While at MD Anderson, Dr. Bucheit worked extensively with faculty in the Melanoma Medical Oncology Department and published several first-author papers in the field. She was the recipient of the Humanities Award, which is awarded to a third-year fellow who demonstrates outstanding clinical skills and compassionate care. Dr. Bucheit treats all cancer types, but has a special interest in melanoma, lung cancer and gastrointestinal malignancies.
