She completed three research fellowships at the University of Southern California, where she also completed her internship and residency in surgery. She finished a second residency in general surgery. She completed her colorectal surgery fellowship program at Grant Medical Center, Ohio. She also completed a fellowship in advanced management of rectal cancer at Lankenau Hospital, PA.
