Biography: A proud army brat, Dr. Joye calls Columbia, South Carolina home, although she's lived and traveled throughout the United States. The experience of growing up in a military family helped lay the foundation for her discipline, adaptiveness, and appreciation of all aspects of diversity. Dr. Joye began her path to medicine by attending Spelman College in Atlanta, GA where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to receive her Medical Doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina. At MUSC, she was elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Joye completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas at Houston. While in residency she was the recipient of various accolades, including Outstanding Resident in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Gynecologic Oncology and the MD Anderson Gynecologic Oncology Resident of the Year Award. She was also elected to be an Administrative Chief Resident. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Joye was honored to receive the Outstanding Chief Resident Award. Dr. Joye's favorite thing about being an obstetrician and gynecologist is being able to establish lifelong relationships with her patients. She is an impassioned women's health advocate and strives for her patients to feel heard, be respected, and to always be well cared for. Dr. Joye brings a compassionate, direct, and engaging bedside manner to all of her patients. She enjoys practicing the full breadth of obstetrics and gynecology and has a special interest in obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, preventative care, menstrual disorders, and contraception counseling. Dr. Joye joined Complete Women's Care Center in 2020 and practices at the Pearland location. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She enjoys trying out new restaurants, yoga, and listening to music. Care Philosophy: Dr. Ayim is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as, Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology(FACOG). She is well accomplished professionally and loved for her charisma. She attended Louisiana State University for undergraduate, where she was accepted into the medical school as a junior student. However, she chose to defer entrance due to her love for Tigerland. Geaux Tigers! She received her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Zoology in 1998. She matriculated from LSU and attended The University of Texas Medical Branch, where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2002. Dr. Ayim completed a year of General Surgery internship at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. She was intrigued by women's health and boldly changed her course to attend the prestigious Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C., where she completed four years of training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was appointed as Administrative Chief Resident in her final year of residency. She also received several awards during her residency training such as Wyeth Grant Recipient for 19th Annual Resident Reporter Program by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and National Institute of Health/NMA Fellows in Academic Careers Grant Recipient. Upon graduation, she was appointed as faculty to the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Ayim relocated to Houston to pursue her dream of private practice focusing on her philosophy of knowing all her patients and their families. Therefore, starting her solo private practice in 2009 has been a fulfilling journey. Dr. Ayim understands the modern day woman and her multi-dimensional responsibilities.
