Care Philosophy: Dr Melissa Anne Mallory is a Breast Surgical Oncologist at Moffitt Cancer Center. She attended the University of Virginia for both her undergraduate and graduate studies where she received a Distinguished Major's in Biology (BS) followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD). Dr Mallory completed her surgical residency at Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA and a R25 fellowship in Multidisciplinary Image-Guided Therapy focusing on image-guided innovations for breast surgical operations at the National Center for Image-Guided Therapy and the Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Following residency, Dr Mallory completed a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Care Philosophy: Dr David Sallman is an Assistant Member in the Department of Malignant Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Sallman's clinical interests are myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). Dr Sallman earned his MD degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and, most recently, a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Care Philosophy: Dr Isenalumehe earned her MD from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, CUNY Medical College, City College of New York (BA/MD Program) / Albany Medical College, New York and her MS degree in Clinical and Biomedical Investigation from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric Residency at NJMS-Rutgers (former: University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, where she also served as Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Chief Resident. She completed a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, University of Southern California, where she also served as Chief Fellow.

Care Philosophy: Dr Voss received an MD from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. She completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of California San Diego Medical Center, and most recently completed a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Voss's clinical interests include extremity sarcomas, complex retroperitoneal and abdominal sarcomas, GISTs, and adrenal tumors (both benign and malignant).

Care Philosophy: Dr Susan Hoover is a board certified surgical oncologist specializing in breast cancer inthe Moffitt Cancer Center Department of Breast Oncology. Additionally, Dr Hoover is theBreast Surgical OncologyFellowshipProgram Director.She returned to Moffitt after several years of practice at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. In addition to performing breast surgeries, such as mastectomies and lumpectomies, she has special expertise in minimally-invasive surgery techniques, incorporating sentinel lymph node biopsy, breast ultrasound, breast needle biopsy and accelerated partial breast irradiation into her patient care.

Care Philosophy: Dr Dam received his MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Boston University Medical Center. Following his residency he completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Albany Medical Center, New York, and an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr Dam's clinical interests include endoscopic therapy for Barrett's esophagus, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), luminal stenting, management of pancreatic-biliary disorders and screening for colorectal cancer.

Care Philosophy: Dr Mok received his MD from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, where he also served as Chief Resident, followed by a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the same institution, where he also served as Chief Fellow. He completed additional fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania and served as an Assistant Professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr Mok is currently the Program Director for Moffitt's Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship. Dr Mok's clinical interests include therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound/ERCP and adjunct/alternative therapy for cancer.

Care Philosophy: Dr Peva's clinical and research interests' include the treatment for Barrett's esophagus and early esophageal cancer using endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and mucosal ablation including radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for biliary and pancreatic disorders including cancer, esophageal stenting and wireless capsule endoscopy for small bowel evaluation. Additional research interests include endoscopic outcomes and capsule endoscopy.

Care Philosophy: Dr Friedman earned his MD degree at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at George Washington University Medical Center and a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Albany Medical Center. After completing training, Dr Friedman worked with Gastrohealth in Miami, Florida for 3 years. He currently is an Associate Member in the department of GI Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He also holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor in the department of Oncological Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr Friedman's clinical interests are in 1) Colorectal cancer screening 2) Genetic Colorectal Cancer Syndromes 3) Surveillance of pre-malignant Intestinal Conditions.

Care Philosophy: Dr Piva earned her MD from the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, where she also completed her Residency in Neurology. She recently completed a Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Piva has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, has written Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT), and submitted a grant during her Fellowship at Moffitt. Her main clinical and translational research focus will be to develop a program and specialization in onco-neurology. This program will seek to understand, prevent and treat the neurologic complications of immunotherapies such as CAR-T cell Therapy and Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors.

Care Philosophy: Dr Jaffer received his MD degree from the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. He then went on to complete a Neurology Residency at the same institution, serving as the Academic Chief Resident of his program. Most recently, he completed a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship, also at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. Dr Jaffer's clinical interest is in onco-neurological complications, especially as relates to epilepsy syndromes, myopathies, and neuropathies. He is interested in multimodal clinical research that combines the use of patient parameters with EMG/EEG findings to predict neurologic outcomes and prognosis.

Care Philosophy: Dr Nishihori is a senior member in the Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy (BMT CI) Department at Moffitt Cancer Center and is a professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr Nishihori's clinical interests include autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) as well as cellular immunotherapeutic approaches for the treatment of various hematologic malignancies including but not limited to multiple myeloma, plasma cell dyscrasias, amyloidosis, malignant lymphomas, acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndrome, myelofibrosis and myeloproliferative disorders. He also performs autologous HCT for testicular cancer/germ cell tumor.

Care Philosophy: Dr Avila received her MD degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, New Mexico, and a Master's in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. She completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. She most recently completed a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Avila's clinical focus is gynecologic malignancies. She specializes in complex surgical approaches, including minimally invasive techniques. She also is interested in HPV-driven malignancies.

Care Philosophy: Dr Larry Silverman to the faculty is a Clinical Assistant Member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Silverman received his MD degree from the University of Miami, Florida. He completed a Radiation Oncology residency at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, where he also served as Chief Resident. He then completed a Radiation Oncology Fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. Dr Silverman joins us from GenesisCare, Sarasota, Florida where he has worked as a Radiation Oncologist since 1998. Dr Silverman's clinical and research interest is palliative radiotherapy with a focus on the treatment of bone metastases.

Care Philosophy: Dr Celis received his MD degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. He then completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship and an Advanced Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr Celis joins us from the University of South Florida, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, where he served as an Assistant Professor since 2020 and as the Program Director of the Advanced Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship. Dr Celis's clinical and research interests focus on minimally invasive pulmonary procedures within the airways and pleural space.
