Biography: Dr. Barbara Chubak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending urologist at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. In addition to providing general urologic care, she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction for all patients, regardless of sex, gender, orientation, or congenital condition. She is particularly committed to addressing the sexual health needs of women and other populations who have been historically marginalized and underserved, while also attending to the voiding dysfunctions and pain syndromes with which they are frequently comorbid. Dr. Chubak received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins, while also earning a master's degree in the history of medicine. Her residency training at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine was bracketed by fellowships in bioethics and sexual medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. She is certified in prosthetic surgery by the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and in vulvoscopy by the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health. Biography: Gina Badalato, M.D., Associate Professor of Urology, joined our faculty in December 2014 as part of the clinical team serving general urology patients. A graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and one of the Department's former residents and clinical fellows, Dr. Badalato specializes in voiding dysfunction, female urology, and stone disease. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Badalato plays an important role in the Department's education mission by serving as Director of Medical Education and advisor to Columbia P&S students. Dr. Badalato has research interest stone disease, voiding dysfunction and medical education outcomes. She has co-authored numerous articles on these and other topics in urology.

Biography: Dr. Tirsit Asfaw is a Urogynecologist who specializes in the care of women with pelvic floor weakness resulting in conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and bladder dysfunction. The network of pelvic structures which normally support a woman's uterus, bladder and rectum may weaken with progressing age, childbirth, obesity and other factors resulting in conditions such as cystocele, rectocele, uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence and bladder dysfunction.Dr. Asfaw offers comprehensive care for women with the above conditions. Her modes of treatment include robotic, abdominal, vaginal reconstructive surgery as well as medical and surgical treatment for urinary incontinence. She offers personalized treatment options that combine effective long term results with safe and quick recovery. Dr. Asfaw has an avid interest in clinical as well as basic science research and has presented her work at numerous national meetings and published in peer reviewed journals.Dr. Asfaw is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She received her undergraduate degree from Washington State University in Pullman, WA and her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. After completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at New York University, New York, NY she completed an accredited three year fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Asfaw holds dual appointments in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urology.
