Dr. Irizarry is a native of upstate New York who graduated from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, then returned to her home state to earn her medical degree at Albany Medical College. She next undertook her pediatric residency training at Duke University, where she was subsequently selected for an elite, pediatric endocrinology fellowship and honored with a Teacher of the Year award.
