Biography: Dr. Riggin joined SMG Urology in 2017 and treats all aspects of adult urological disorders. He has a special interest in kidney stone disease and his goal is to make all of his patients 100 percent stone free through a comprehensive approach which includes surgical and medical management, as well as preventive care. He has extensive experience performing ``tubeless`` percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for the management of large and complex kidney stones. During his training, he also acquired experience using the latest minimally invasive, laparoscopic and robotic assisted techniques for the management of kidney, bladder and prostate cancer, as well as BPH. He uses the Da Vinci surgical robot to remove kidney tumors and to reconstruct kidney and ureteral abnormalities. He also performs a wide array of BPH procedures including REZUM, Greenlight Laser PVP and Trans-urethral resection of the prostate (TURP). Additionally, he offers a broad spectrum of medical and surgical treatments for erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease. Dr. Riggin grew up in Annapolis and attended University of Maryland, College Park for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore, where he graduated with honors and as an AOA scholar. Following graduation, he completed his internship in general surgery and his urology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. During his free time, Dr. Riggin enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and their dogs. He is also an avid waterfowl hunter, fly fisherman and hiker.

Biography: Richard G. Rento II, MD, grew up in northern New Jersey before receiving his Bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1982. He earned his medical degree in 1986 from the Brown-Dartmouth Program in Medicine (Hanover, NH and Providence, RI). Dr. Rento did his general surgery and urology training at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, at the McGaw Medical Center where, in addition to his clinical training, he spent a year as a research fellow in 1991 and was Chief Resident in 1992. For the past 25 years, Dr. Rento has been in private practice in southeastern Virginia where he served as Medical Director of Urologic Oncology at Riverside Cancer Care Center. Consistently, for the past fifteen years, including 2017, he has been listed as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Hampton Roads. In 2013, he was on the cover of Hampton Roads Magazine and voted the ``Top Urologist`` by his peers. He was a founding member of the Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum dedicated to raising awareness and providing prostate cancer education in the community. Dr. Rento is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the American Urologic Association. Dr. Rento has returned to the NY/NJ metropolitan area with medical staff privileges at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, and Nyack Hospital. He has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery of the prostate, kidney, bladder, and adrenal glands while remaining involved in the diagnosis and treatment of all adult urologic disorders.
