She is skilled in minimally invasive and hidden scar surgical techniques, nipple sparing mastectomy and breast conservation therapy. In addition, she also focuses on thyroid and parathyroid surgery, specializing in surgery for both benign and malignant processes. Dr. Burns also performs many other general surgery procedures, including minimally invasive hernia repair, abdominal surgery, and removal of skin lesions and skin cancers. She is proud to provide these therapies and her unique perspective to the women of northern and central Florida. Biography: Dr. Valerie Vazquez, MD, is a board-certified General Surgeon with HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. Dr. Vazquez provides the highest quality surgical care possible while focusing on each patient's treatment to provide a team approach to healing.Dr. Valerie Vazquez, MD obtained her undergraduate degree from Universidad de Puerto Rico in 2012 and continued her education by receiving her medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in 2018. Dr. Vazquez attended the University of Central Florida-HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in 2023 for her residency.In her free time, she enjoys horse riding, gardening, and travel.
