Biography: Laura Donovan, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at CUIMC in the Division of Neuro-Oncology. She completed her undergraduate work at Providence College and earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. Following an internship in internal medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, she completed her neurology training at NYP/Columbia University. She served as Chief Resident of the Neurology Department at Columbia University from 2016-2017. She completed her fellowship training in Neuro-oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center. Her research interests include improving care delivery and identifying interventions to improve quality of life in patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors.

Biography: Radhika Jagannathan, MD, PhDis an assistant professor of neurologyin the Division of Aging and Dementia and the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain. She completed her undergraduate studies in biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a dual-degree program at Washington University in St. Louis, where she attained both her medical degree and PhD in molecular cell biology. Dr. Jagannathan completed her internship and residency in neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, serving as chief resident in her final year. During fellowship in behavioral neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Dr. Jagannathan worked inthe Taub Institute laboratory of Dr. Ulrich Hengst, investigating how changes in transcription factor regulatory mechanisms can drive programmatic changes in gene expression and contribute to disease pathogenesis.Dr. Jagannathan specializes inpatients with memory disorders in her Aging and Dementia practice, and also sees patients with Huntington's disease through the multidisciplinary Huntington's Disease Society of America Center of Excellence at Columbia.

Biography: Dr. Barca is a physician scientist with experience in neuromuscular disease. His work focuses on metabolic myopathies and mitochondrial diseases. Dr. Barca worked for many years with adult onset Pompe Disease patients in one of the major neuromuscular center in Europe. As he joined Columbia initially as a research scientist, he acquired considerable experience in Mitochondrial medicine. Mitochondrial disease became the focus of his clinical interest he joined the North American Mitochondrial Disease Consortium (NAMDC) as clinical fellow. He completed adult neurology residency at Columbia Irving Medical Center where he became proficient in diagnosis and treatment of most neurological conditions.

Care Philosophy: I provide diagnosis and treatment for a broad range of cognitive disorders including Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, Parkinson's disease, particularly associated with cognitive impairment, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia and corticobasal degeneration. I also see families with Huntington's Disease at the Huntington's Disease Center of Excellence at the NYS Psychiatric Institute. Biography: Dr. Katherine Rosenwasser is the Chief of Pediatric Orthopedic Trauma at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) / Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York (MSCHONY).She is an expert in the operative and non-operative treatment of lower extremity deformity and musculoskeletal trauma in pediatric patients from infants to adolescents. Her practice focuses on caring for children with limb-length discrepancies, clubfoot, congenital deformities, and those requiring complex lower extremity reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Rosenwasser's advanced training allows her to leverage the latest surgical techniques and non-operative therapies to provide life-altering interventions for young patients. After receiving her medical degree from Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Rosenwasser remained at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian where she completed residency training in orthopedic surgery, serving as executive chief resident. Following her residency, Dr. Rosenwasser completed dual fellowships in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and pediatric limb lengthening and reconstruction under the direction of Dr. John Herzenberg at the Sinai Hospital's Ruben Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Rosenwasser is an active member of the academic orthopedic community, both as a member of numerous national organizations and as an active researcher with a variety of ongoing research projects focused on improving patient outcomes for children who require complex orthopedic care.

Biography: After obtaining his medical degree from the Universidad de Guadalajara with the Deans Mention of Outstanding Academic Performance, Luis Alcala completed his Adult Neurology residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then moved to the East Coast to complete fellowship training in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is passionate about the diagnosis and surgical treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy and how much can epilepsy surgery improve the quality of life of patients when used properly. Dr. Alcala is a native Spanish speaker.

Biography: Dr. Richard Mayeux is the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry and Epidemiology, chair of the Department of Neurology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Neurologist-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Mayeux is also director of the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center, a center devoted to the epidemiologic investigation of neurological diseases, and co-director of the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Mayeux graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma School of Health Sciences and trained in Internal Medicine at the Boston City Hospital and in Neurology at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. He completed a fellowship in the study of disorders of behavior, language, and cognition with the late D.Frank Benson in Boston. Dr. Mayeux completed graduate work in epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Mayeux has led a multidisciplinary, population-based investigation of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders known as the Washington Heights-Inwood Community Aging Project (WHICAP) since 1989. Utilizing this WHICAP population, he and his colleagues were among the first to integrate genetic risk factors and epidemiological principles in an attempt to identify biological markers of susceptibility to degenerative diseases of the aging nervous system. He has been the author of over 350 papers, chapters, and books dealing with various aspects of Alzheimer's disease and other degenerative diseases of the aging brain. Dr. Mayeux has been the Robert Aird Visiting Professor at the University of California at San Francisco, the Emanuel Goldberg Visiting Professor at the University of Rochester, and the J.L. Silversides Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto. He was the recipient of the Columbia University Dean's Distinguished Clinical Scientist Award, and received the Rita Hayworth Award from the Alzheimer's Association. Dr. Mayeux is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the New York Academy of Science, a member of the American Neurological Association and the Association of American Physicians. He is also a member of the Association for Research in Nervous and Mental Disease, the Society for Epidemiologic Research, and the Society for Neuroscience. He has served as a member of the Aging Review and the Epidemiology of Chronic Disorders Committees for the National Institutes of Health and the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board for the Alzheimer's Association. In 2001, he was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies. He has received the 2007 Potamkin Prize from the American Academy of Neurology, the 2008 John Stearns Award for Lifetime Achievement in Medicine from the New York Academy of Medicine, and the 2009 Henry Wisniewski Lifetime Achievement Award in Alzheimer's Disease Research from the Alzheimer's Association.
