Care Philosophy: Dr Enas Abdallah is an Assistant Member in the Moffitt Cancer Center Department of Malignant Hematology. Dr Abdallah earned her MD from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Allegiance Health and a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Beaumont Health in Michigan. Dr Abdallah's clinical and scholarly interests are focused on inpatient management of malignant hematology patients. She will work closely with all members of the inpatient team to optimize care and outcomes.

Care Philosophy: Dr Lazarides received his MD degree from Duke University Medical School. He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Duke University Medical Center, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Lazarides most recently completed an Orthopaedic Oncology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital-University of Toronto, Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, in Toronto, Canada. Dr Lazarides specializes in treating pediatric and adult patients with benign or malignant bone or soft tissue tumors of the musculoskeletal system. His focus is the treatment of sarcomas as well as benign tumors and metastatic bone disease.

Care Philosophy: Dr Aixa Soyano is an Assistant Member in the Department of Breast Oncology. Dr Soyano received her MD degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela/Escuela de Medicina in Venezuela. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Steward Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr Soyano recently completed a Hematology Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr Soyano is interested in the multidisciplinary care of patients of any age and race with breast cancer of any stage and subtype. Her research interest is in the future of oncology related to personalized medicine.

Care Philosophy: Dr Andreas Saltos is a Medical Oncologist and the Clinical Research Medical Director in the Department of Thoracic Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Saltos earned his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore before moving to Tampa, where he completed a Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Saltos specializes in the treatment of thoracic malignancies, including all forms and stages of lung cancer.

Care Philosophy: Dr Vogelbaum is an internationally known leader in neurosurgical oncology and a distinguished investigator in laboratory research, translational and clinical trials in gliomas. Dr Vogelbaum is currently Chief of Neurosurgery and Program Leader of the Department of Neuro-Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He has served on or led numerous scientific committees and holds an array of honors and awards, as well as leadership positions at the regional, national, and international levels. He is the principal investigator and co-investigator of a broad range of early-phase investigator-initiated therapeutic trials, both national and international multisite collaborative studies. He has published over 190 peer-reviewed and invited articles.

Care Philosophy: Dr Isenalumehe earned her MD from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, CUNY Medical College, City College of New York (BA/MD Program) / Albany Medical College, New York and her MS degree in Clinical and Biomedical Investigation from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric Residency at NJMS-Rutgers (former: University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, where she also served as Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Chief Resident. She completed a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, University of Southern California, where she also served as Chief Fellow.

Care Philosophy: Dr Sweet's clinical interests include myeloid malignancies with a particular focus on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). She completed her medical education at the Medical College of Virginia - Virginia Commonwealth University. Her Internal Medicine residency was completed at the University of Arizona, and her Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship training was done at Moffitt Cancer Center/The University of South Florida. She is currently an Associate Member in the Department of Malignant Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center and has an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

Care Philosophy: Dr Bejanyan is an Associate Member, Program Leader of Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Head of the Leukemia/Myeloid Section of the BMT and Cellular Immunotherapy Department at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is an Associate Professor in Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida.Dr Bejanyan also served as the Clinical Scientific Co-Director of Moffitt Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Core. As a physician investigator with clinical and research expertise in BMT and cellular immunotherapies for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), Dr Bejanyan focuses in advancing clinical and translational research by fostering innovative immune cell therapy strategies to treat leukemia.

Care Philosophy: Dr David Sallman is an Assistant Member in the Department of Malignant Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Sallman's clinical interests are myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). Dr Sallman earned his MD degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and, most recently, a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Care Philosophy: Dr James Liu is a neurosurgeon who specializes in the surgical and radiosurgical treatment of brain and spine tumors. Currently, he is an Assistant Member in the Department of Neuro-Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center and an Assistant Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Michigan. He received a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He obtained his residency training in neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Cancer Stem Cell Biology at the Cleveland Clinic, during which he was awarded the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Tumor Fellowship.

Care Philosophy: Dr Hien Liu is an Associate Member in the Moffitt Cancer Center Department of Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy. She is the Medical Director of the Apheresis Program. She is also an Associate Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr Liu received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Michigan State University/Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center. This was followed by a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she also served as Chief Fellow.

Care Philosophy: Dr Khimani's Clinical interest is specifically in Blood and Marrow transplantation. His area of focus is Lymphoma and Acute Leukemia. He routinely takes care of patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Acute Myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome etc. who require autologous or allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as a curative treatment option for their malignancy.

Care Philosophy: Dr Piva earned her MD from the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, where she also completed her Residency in Neurology. She recently completed a Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Piva has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, has written Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT), and submitted a grant during her Fellowship at Moffitt. Her main clinical and translational research focus will be to develop a program and specialization in onco-neurology. This program will seek to understand, prevent and treat the neurologic complications of immunotherapies such as CAR-T cell Therapy and Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors.

Care Philosophy: Dr Ochoa-Bayona's interests are in traditional bone marrow transplant using high dose chemotherapy and autologous or allogeneic stem transplant to treat myeloma, lymphoma, advanced or recurrent germ cell tumors of the ovary and testis despite standard chemotherapy, myelodysplastic syndromes, acute and chronic leukemias. He completed his training in Internal Medicine, Hematology/Medical Oncology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2002.

Care Philosophy: Dr Faramand earned her MD from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Resident. She recently completed a Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and Moffitt Cancer Center, where she also served as Chief Fellow. Dr Faramand's clinical focus is on allogeneic stem cell transplantation for hematologic malignancies. She is particularly interested in improving outcomes for patients with acute leukemias, including acute lymphoblastic leukemias and acute myeloid leukemia as well as myelodysplastic syndrome.

Care Philosophy: Dr Extermann is Program Leader in the Senior Adult Oncology Program at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Martine Extermann is also a Professor of Oncology and Medicine at the University of South Florida. She earned her medical degree and a PhD at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She has a Swiss Board Certification in Internal Medicine, specializing in Hematology-Oncology. She also holds ABIM certifications in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She has worked at Moffitt since 1994 and has been a faculty member since 1997. Her clinical activity and research focus on cancer in older patients.

Care Philosophy: Dr Costa is a Medical Oncologist at the Department of Breast Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in the Clinical Investigator Track since 2017. In 2011, Dr Costa completed a Master Degree in Clinical Research at University of Pittsburgh and Clinical Fellowship Training at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr Costa was an Instructor at the Developmental Therapeutics Program at Northwestern University, Chicago, where he developed early phase clinical trials for the treatment of breast cancer. He has already authored and co-authored over 40 scientific manuscripts.

Care Philosophy: Dr Richard Kim is a Service Chief of Medical Gastrointestinal Oncology and Senior Member in the Gastrointestinal Oncology Department at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is a Professor of Oncology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr Kim received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Yale University Comprehensive Cancer Center in New Haven, CT.

Care Philosophy: Dr Nishihori is a senior member in the Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy (BMT CI) Department at Moffitt Cancer Center and is a professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr Nishihori's clinical interests include autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) as well as cellular immunotherapeutic approaches for the treatment of various hematologic malignancies including but not limited to multiple myeloma, plasma cell dyscrasias, amyloidosis, malignant lymphomas, acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndrome, myelofibrosis and myeloproliferative disorders. He also performs autologous HCT for testicular cancer/germ cell tumor.

Care Philosophy: Dr Chatwal earned her MD at Florida State University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by a Hematology Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr Chatwal's clinical focus is the medical oncology management of patients with genitourinary malignancies, particularly prostate cancer. Her research focus is on prostate cancer clinical trials and outcomes. Dr Chatwal also has a practical and research interest in the important issue of provider burnout.
