Biography: Dr. Tirsit Asfaw is a Urogynecologist who specializes in the care of women with pelvic floor weakness resulting in conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and bladder dysfunction. Biography: Dr. Denise Howard grew up in Columbus, Mississippi. She did herundergraduate work at the University of Mississippi and then attended JohnsHopkins receiving a MD, MPH in 1993. She completed a residency in Obstetricsand Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh's Magee Women's Hospital in 1997and then a fellowship in Urogynecology at the University of Michigan. Dr.Howard remained on faculty there until 2001 when she relocated to the Atlanta areawhere she was in private practice until 2010. She and her family moved to theMiddle East where she worked in various leadership positions in Abu Dhabi andDoha before returning to the U.S. at the end of 2019. Most recently she was the Chief of Gynecology for Geisinger Health System inDanville, Pennsylvania where she also had a faculty appointment at the medicalschool and served as core faculty for the residency program. She is BoardCertified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Collegeof Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Certified Physician Executive. She isalso a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, Society of GynecologicSurgeons, and the American Association for Physician Leadership. Biography: Dr. Chetna Arora is a board-certified and fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is a specialist in complex benign gynecologic surgery for the treatment of uterine fibroids, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian pathology, and fertility surgery. Her AAGL-accredited fellowship provided Dr. Arora with the specialized training and expertise in the fields of advanced robotics, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Dr. Arora's primary goals are minimally-invasive approaches with a thoughtful focus on patient-centered care thus allowing the patient a quicker recovery, improved cosmesis, and greater patient satisfaction. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City accelerated School of Medicine, Dr. Arora completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota followed by a three-year minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship at Columbia University. During her fellowship, she excelled surgically and academically. She was and remains highly research-oriented with numerous publications and awards, notably a prestigious scholarly Jay M. Cooper award from AAGL. She is also an Associate Program Director for the Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery fellowship.
