Biography: John Roberts, M.D., is a board-certified thoracic and cardiac surgeon at Baptist Health Lynn Cancer Institute, focusing on surgical treatments of lung and esophageal cancers. Dr. Roberts earned his medical degree with honors from Yale University and earned his MBA at Auburn University. His postgraduate training included an internship and residency program in surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as chief resident in surgery and completed an oncology and trauma fellowship. Dr. Roberts went on to complete an additional residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Brigham & Womens Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Hes an Army Reserve veteran and has held several faculty and hospital administration appointments. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures to help diagnose and fix congenital heart problems. He specializes in closure of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and atrial septal defects (ASD). He also has extra training in pulmonary hypertension in children.

He completed his residency in internal medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., a cardiology fellowship at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and an electrophysiology fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Ambati is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Board of Internal Medicine, through which he received the professional credentials of Board Certified Electrophysiologist, Board Certified Cardiologist, and Board Certified Internist, respectively.
