Biography: James S. Raphael, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and Director of the Hand Surgery Program at Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Raphael specializes in the treatment of chronic and traumatic conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow. He is regionally recognized for his proficiency in today's most advanced orthopedic surgery procedures, including arthroscopy, microsurgery, replantation, free-tissue transfer, nervesurgery and reconstruction. Dr. Raphael co-chairs the Research Program in the Department of Orthopedics at Einstein Healthcare Network and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. Biography: Dr. Schwartz is a clinical assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Temple University School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Schwartz received the Continuing Medical Education Award of the American Medical Association. He holds a certificate of added qualification in spinal cord medicine from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Schwartz has presented at local and national meetings and participates in research to spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
