Biography: Dr. Gary Schmidt is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon specializing in post-traumatic reconstruction of the foot and ankle, foot and ankle deformity in adults and athletic injuries. He also treats patients with common foot problems, including bunions and heel pain. Dr. Schmidt has more than three decades of clinical experience and has been active in teaching and research with publication in various medical journals. Dr. Schmidt also gained valuable sports medicine experience while working with the Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Expos as well as serving as a team physician for the McGill hockey team. Dr. Schmidt performed a total ankle replacement on me one year ago. It has truly changed my life. After 15 years of limping in pain, with little results from another doctor, I found Dr. Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt is committed to providing the highest quality surgical care that reduces risk of complications, while minimizing pain and recovery time. Often using minimally invasive and arthroscopic technology and techniques, many of Dr. Schmidt's patients benefit from reduced blood loss, fewer complications, decreased pain, shorter recovery times and minimal scarring. After earning his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada, Dr. Schmidt completed an internship and an orthopedic residency at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He then furthered his training with a foot and ankle fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After practicing for more than 20 years in Missouri, Dr. Schmidt relocated to Colorado where he provides advanced care for conditions of the foot and ankle to patients in the Denver metro area. Care Philosophy: Kent Horiuchi, MD, enjoys building relationships with people and helping them improve their health through shared decision making. He is committed to working hard for his patients to support their healthcare needs. In his practice, he treats all conditions of primary care including arthritis, asthma, common cold, flu, covid, diabetes, allergies, otitis media, high blood pressure, back pain, anxiety, depression, hyperlipidemia, COPD, obesity, and migraine. Dr Horiuchi also performs skin biopsies, sutures, knee and shoulder injections, toenail removal, cryotherapy, and sebaceous cyst removal. Dr Horiuchi attended the St. Louis University of Medicine for his medical degree. He obtained a BS in biology at Colorado State University.

Care Philosophy: I am primarily interested in the orthopaedic care of the multiply injured patient. I specialize in fractures of the acetabulum, pelvis, and in periarticular fractures of the upper and lower extremities. I have a special interest in minimally invasive fracture fixation, utilizing techniques to minimize trauma to the surrounding soft tissue envelope in the course of fracture surgery.
