Dr. Santiago also completed both a fellowship and research fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of South Florida. An advocate for education, Dr. Santiago gives regular presentations on the topics of colon and rectal cancers, including education reaching the Spanish-speaking population. Dr. Santiago is a proud Veteran, having served as a Major in the United States Army.

He is a Fellow of the America College of Surgeons, a member of The Florida Vascular Society, Vascular Access Society of America and The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.
