Biography: Dr. Castello is the founder of CardioHealth and one of the few fluent Spanish-speaking cardiologists in Jacksonville. Originally from Spain, he came to the U.S. in 1989 after completing his cardiology training. He spent most of his professional career in prestigious academic institutions such as St Louis University, Case Western Reserve University, and Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, where he was the Director of Echocardiography. He is a world-renowned physician in the area of echocardiography and has published over 200 scientific publications. Dr. Castello has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Echocardiography and President of ICAEL (the sole agency in the USA that provides accreditation to echocardiography laboratories). His research focus has been on reducing side effects of radiation and better understanding patient reported quality of life outcomes among patients with lung cancer, prostate cancer and lymphoma. Dr. Hoppe is currently the Chair of the Lymphoma Subcommittee of Particle Therapy Cooperative Oncology Group (PTCOG), Secretary of the Proton Collaborative Group (PCG), and serves on the American College of Radiology (ACR) Expert Lymphoma Guidelines Committee, American Board of Radiology (ABR) Lymphoma Examination Board, the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Education Committee and the International Journal of Particle Therapy Editorial Board.
