Care Philosophy: Joshua Shatsky, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon whose primary focus is spinal pathology, including degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine pathology, adult spinal deformity, spine tumor, and cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine trauma. _x000D_ Dr. Shatsky completed one of the most competitive orthopedic traumatology fellowships in the country at Harborview Medical Center and followed that with an intensive interdisciplinary orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship at Harborview Medical Center/University of Washington. Combining the two orthopedic disciplines has given him a unique perspective and skills, allowing him to address many challenging spinal and traumatic pathologies. _x000D_ Dr. Shatsky is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), a candidate member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Biography: Rajiv Sethi, MD, currently serves as the executive medical director of the Center of Neurosciences and Spine at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. This includes leadership of the spine program, which employs spinal surgeons across five hospitals in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Sethi has trained complex spine fellows from America's best neurosurgery and orthopedic programs. He is also a clinical professor at the University of Washington, specializing in health systems research in the Program of Health Economics and Outcomes Methodology in the schools of medicine and public health. Prior to beginning medical school at Harvard, Dr. Sethi was a Fulbright Scholar in the field of public health.Dr. Sethi has been actively involved in the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), serving on its Board of Directors, as past chair of the Safety and Value committee and recent chair of the Program committee, as well as on the adult deformity, research grant, IMAST, website and worldwide conference committees and multiple task forces. His research around team strategies and multidisciplinary protocols to enhance safety in spinal deformity surgery has led to numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and podium presentations as well invited visiting professorships in the US and abroad. He has published two textbooks focusing on value-based care in spine care delivery and spine safety protocols.Dr. Sethi's research has been awarded major nominations including the Whitecloud Award by the SRS for best research paper and the Mary McClinton Award for Patient Safety in the United States. He specializes in total ankle replacement, foot and ankle deformity, reconstructive surgery, arthroscopic ankle surgery, and foot and ankle trauma surgery. He holds special medical interest in foot and ankle arthritis, reconstructive surgery and total ankle replacement (TAR) surgery.Dr. Ngan treats his patients as he would wish to be treated, speaks to patients on a personal level and encourages second opinions. She focuses on musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions, including acute and overuse injuries, as well as osteoarthritis and tendinopathy. Dr. Mehech has a particular interest in using ultrasound not only to diagnose and treat via ultrasound-guided injections and procedures, but also to educate patients on their conditions. She values working in a collaborative environment with both patients and with other medical professionals such as orthopedic surgeons and physical or occupational therapists. Originally from California, Dr. Mehech is happy to call Washington home. Her approach is holistic and osteopathic, encompassing the mind, body and spirit. She uses osteopathic (hands-on) techniques to treat many conditions, including headaches, sprains, sinus and upper respiratory infections, joint pain and chronic body pain.
