Biography: When I was growing up, biology was always my favorite subject. I knew that I wanted to have a career that would allow me to explore this interest. As it worked out, my high school AP biology teacher was a great inspiration and helped kindle my interest in medicine. \n I approach the care of my patients from a patient-centered viewpoint. What works for one patient may not be the best choice for another. I strive to get to know my patients as individuals - their backgrounds, hobbies and families. It makes my job much more enjoyable and rewarding, and I think it makes the patient experience better, too. \n I have served as the president of the medical staff of Medical Park Hospital and I am currently the medical director at Piedmont Stone Center. I have previously served on the board of directors of Trellis Supportive Care, a community-based hospice center, and I have been a Paul Harris Fellow and board member of the Stratford Rotary Club. I am a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where I have served on the vestry and as senior warden. \n My wife and I have two daughters. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, hiking and volunteering in the community.

Biography: I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare and help others achieve their best physical and emotional health. Family medicine has allowed me to do just that. \n I have worked hard to become a good listener. I want my patients to leave my office feeling like their concerns and issues were heard and addressed. Unfortunately, we cannot cure every disease or fix every problem, but we can listen intently, validate concerns and provide support - and that can go a long way in helping patients. \n I was honored to win the 2003 Community Teaching Award from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the 2019 Preceptor of the Year Award from Georgetown University. I am a past board member of the Community Care Center, a clinic for uninsured patients. \n My wife, Michelle, shares my passion for healthcare and helping others. She's worked as a physical therapist for about three decades. Our daughter is in the health and wellness business, and creates exercise and diet plans for her patients. Our son is studying marketing and business in college. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, golfing with my buddies and occasionally just doing nothing.

Biography: My high school physiology teacher had an awe and excitement for biological sciences that inspired me. Of course, I may have been predisposed to have an interest in science: My own birth came with risks to my mother's life. And my own. \n No one in my family was surprised when I became an ob-gyn. I grew up hearing my birth story and being grateful for the physicians who cared for my mom - although they'd never met her. I arrived early and unexpectedly while my family was on vacation in another state. My mom was a "walk-in" to the labor and delivery department in an unfamiliar hospital in an unfamiliar city. \n In my practice, I strive to empower women to know and understand how their bodies work. I consider it a privilege to care of women over the course of their reproductive lives, addressing the challenges each stage can bring. \n Women often have ups and downs during pregnancy and postpartum. That's when I can be a source of consistent care and information. \n In my more than two decades of caring for patients, I've won the Central Penn Parent Healthcare Heroes Award, was recognized as a 2015 Women's Health & Wellness Hero by Central Penn Parent Magazine and won the 2018 Outstanding FertilityCare Medical Consultant Award from the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals. \nI'm currently serving as board president for the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals. \n After 18 years in Pennsylvania, my family moved to North Carolina in 2018. My husband, Paul, and I have nine sons and one daughter, ranging in age from 12 to 29. I enjoy caring for my family and watching my children grow. \n I love to watch classic movies - especially musicals. I also enjoy hiking in N.C. state parks and playing what I always hope will be a noncompetitive game of pickleball - although my husband and boys enjoy the competition.
