Prior to joining Moffitt, Dr Li completed advanced urologic oncology training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is well a full professor of oncology and urology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Prior to joining Moffitt, Dr Spiess completed a three-year SUO-accredited urologic oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr Spiess' research interests include novel therapies for advanced renal, bladder and penile cancer. Dr Spiess has published over 220 peer reviewed manuscripts and has edited 5 textbooks on urologic oncology.

Care Philosophy: Xavier F Cannella, MD, FACS is a peripheral vascular and general surgeon. He began his practice after completing his vascular fellowship in his native Tampa in 1991. He is certified by the America Board of Surgery and The American Board of Wound Healing. Following fellowship colon and rectal surgical training at the University of Minnesota, he then pursued additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Advanced Colorectal Surgical Oncology. He understands the fears patients face with his/her diagnosis, specifically regarding the functional and psychological impact that may result from surgery. He focuses on these important aspects of a patient's quality of life, and when possible, he uses nerve-sparing surgical techniques that can help to preserve anal, bladder, and sexual function.
