Biography: Armando Alvarez, M.D., is a board-certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as pain management at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Alvarez diagnoses and treats patients with acute and chronic pain, as well as musculoskeletal conditions. He specializes in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunological conditions.Dr. Compres-Brugal earned his medical degree with honors from the Universidad Iberoamericana School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He served as chief resident during his adult neurology residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at the University of South Florida, supported by the National MS Society.
