Biography: Matthew Ciminero, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in orthopedic trauma and adult reconstruction, at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care, part of Baptist Health. He is fluent in English and has basic proficiency in Spanish. Prior to joining Baptist Health in in 2022, Dr. Ciminero completed his orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. During his orthopaedic surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center, he served as the administrative chief resident and ran a COVID-19 intensive care unit during the initial peak wave of COVID in 2020. He served as the Annie C. Kane Fellow in hip and knee reconstruction at New York Orthopedic Hospital/Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. In 1980-1986 he was chief surgeon of the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation at the University of Miami. Dr. Borja has published in several medical journals on hip and knee joint replacement and knee surgery. He has participated in clinical research on arthritis and bone banking and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international medical meetings.
