Biography: Melissa Burkhardt, CNM, MSN earned a BS in Nursing at Wright State University, as well as a certificate in Midwifery and a Master's Degree in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. "Missy" has worked in labor and delivery since 2005, and joined our practice in 2011. She enjoys supporting women of all ages and has a passion for empowering women during childbirth. Melissa is accepting new patients. She is now trained and certified in Nexplanon insertion.

Biography: LaurenBraswell, CNM is a certifiednursemidwife inEnglewood, OH. Shereceived her Master of Science in Midwifery from the University of Cincinnati in 2015. Lauren received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia State University in 2008. Lauren believes every woman should be given education and the support to be an active participant in their care.

Biography: Elyse Weber, PA graduated from Kettering College in 2014 with her Masters of Physician Assistant studies. Elyse received her Bachelor of Health and Sports Science in Exercise Physiology form the University of Dayton in 2011.

Biography: Andrea Carr, CNM received her Master of Science in Nursing-Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in 2016. Andrea received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University in 2011.

Biography: Michele Carlson, CNM, MS serves as a certified nurse midwife with Women's Health Specialists and Midwives of Dayton. She earned a bachelor's of science degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. She earned a certification in midwifery from the Institute of Midwifery, Women and Health and a master of science in midwifery from Philadelphia University. She has more than 20 years of experience in labor and delivery of babies. Michele is accepting new patients.

Care Philosophy: My mission has always been to provide women with a listening ear. Communication is key. I believe that the medical history is important in establishing a plan of care and helps to direct the provider to ordering appropriate diagnostics. I attempt to treat those that I interact with in the same manner that I would want to be treated. I thoroughly enjoy my profession and I hope that I am able to transmit this enthusiasm the majority of the time.

Care Philosophy: I am a christian and God is center in my life. I practice midwifery with the same principals I use to live my life. I have a call on my life to help women through each stage in their life from adolescence to menopause. I especially enjoy working with families during pregnancy and childbirth, and helping to make their experience as positive and memorable as possible.
