Biography: Nicole D. Goulet is a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon. Dr. Goulet earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College. She completed her medical educationand residency at University of Connecticut. She then went on to complete her Trauma and Critical Care Fellowship and her first year in practice at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ before she began working at NYU Langone in 2018. She served as the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit in Brooklyn, NY for the past three years.Dr. Goulet is one of the founders of the Association of Out Surgeons and Allies (AOSA) and was the Founding President. She is also a member of several trauma organizations including the American Association for the Surgeryof Trauma (AAST) and Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) as well as the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) where she serves on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committees. She has published several articles on diversity and equity in surgery which is her primary research focus.

Biography: Nima Maghami, MD FACS is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in Weill Cornell Medicine's Division of Trauma, Burns, Acute and Critical Care Surgeryand an Assistant Attending Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Maghami earned his B.S. degree, magna cum laude, in Physiology and Neurobiology from University of Maryland. Subsequently, he received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin where he obtained the Distinguished Medical Student Research Award for his work on transplantation immune tolerance induction. He then completed his internship and residency training in General Surgery at Albany Medical College, in Albany, NY followed by fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care atNew York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. After obtaining his dual board certifications in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, he joined the faculty at Houston Methodist Hospital as an acute care surgeon and surgical intensivist. Having a strong passion for medical education, Dr. Maghami has mentored numerous medical students and residents over the years. As an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M College of Medicine, he had the opportunity to be involved in medical education and curriculum development. Dr. Maghami's efforts in medical education and distinction as a clinician-educator have been recognizedby both students and residents. He won the Best Faculty for Surgery Award by Texas A&M College of Medicine students for two years consecutively, in 2019 and 2020. In addition, he won the prestigious Golden Apple Faculty Teaching Award given by the general surgery residents at the Houston Methodist Hospital in 2020 as well as the Faculty Award for Outstanding Service by the hospital that year. By being a member of various medical organizations and global outreach programs, Dr. Maghami strives to be part of a collaborative team advancing medical care and advocating for patient care nationally and internationally.

Biography: Pierre F. Saldinger, MD, FACSis the Senior Vice President of Perioperative Services at NewYork-Presbyterian. and Attending physician at NewYork- Presbyterian Queens. He is also a professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr.Saldingerjoins NYP from NewYork-Presbyterian Queens where he serves asChairman of the Department ofSurgeryandSurgeon-in-Chief.He is alsothe Director of theNewYork-Presbyterian surgicalquality and safety programand aProfessor of Clinical Surgery atWeill Cornell Medical College. Adistinguishedandwell-publishedsurgeon,he hasextensiveexpertisein the surgical treatment of cancer and benign disorders of the pancreas,liver, gallbladder, bile ductsand surgical quality improvement. Hestudied medicine at theUniversity of Basel School of Medicine Switzerland,earned his medicaldegree fromSwitzerland's University ofBernSchool of MedicineandaMaster of HealthAdministration from the Mailman School ofPublic Health Columbia University. He completedhis residency inGeneral Surgery at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School, andclinical fellowship in hepatobiliarysurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Biography: Benjamin Samstein, MD is Chief of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery in the Department of Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and Associate Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University. Dr. Samstein is the Surgical Director of the Living Donor Liver Transplant Program at NYP. Dr. Samstein is a renowned pioneer in minimally invasive liver surgery and state-of-the-art laparoscopic techniques for liver cancer. Dr. Samstein is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. Dr. Samstein heads up the multidisciplinary liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery team at NYP/Weill Cornell. His specialties include the most advanced laparoscopic procedures for liver cancer, benign liver tumors and hepatobiliary pancreatic disease. He has been invited to talk about minimally invasive liver surgery throughout the world. He is a member of many surgical societies including a founding member of the International Laparoscopic Liver Society (ILLS), American Society of Transplant Surgery, American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA). He is the Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of LiveOnNY and served as the Regional representation to the Liver and Intestine Committee of UNOS from 2014 to 2016. Dr. Samstein received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1992 and earned his MD at the State University of New York at Stonybrook in 1997. He did his internship and residency in general surgery at NYP/Columbia, and completed a research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in 2001. He completed a fellowship in ASTS Multi-organ transplant at NYP/Columbia in 2006. He was Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center from 2006 to 2015. He served as Program Director of the transplant surgery fellowship at Columbia University from 2007 to 2015.
