Biography: Ivan Matos Diaz, M.D., is co-director of cerebrovascular neurology at Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Matos specializes in vascular neurology and cerebrovascular neurology, including treatment for stroke and brain hemorrhage patients. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Miami Neuroscience Institute in 2022, Dr. Matos worked as a neurohospitalist and vascular neurologist at Hennepin Healthcare. He also served as the medical director at the Hennepin Healthcare Comprehensive Stroke Center. Dr. Matos has conducted research in multiple clinical trials, including the Stroke Hyperglycemia Insulin Network Effect (SHINE) trial and the AtRial Cardiopathy and Antithrombotic Drugs In Prevention After Cryptogenic Stroke (ARCADIA) trial. He is a member of the American Stroke Association and the American Academy of Neurology. Because Dr. Matos often sees patients at their sickest, he enjoys helping them on their journey back to health and returning to their daily activities. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Matos likes spending time with his wife, riding his motorcycle and skydiving.
