Biography: Dr. Milan Lombardi is a well-trained, board certified dermatologist who specializes in cutaneous surgery, cosmetic and laser dermatology. He grew up in New York City but always desired to start a practice in a more intimate and close-knit environment where he could develop lifelong warm and trusting relationships with his patients. He is known for thinking outside the box when the current paradigm is not working, and enjoys maintaining insight into the most up-to-date, evidence-based care and state of the art technology in the rapidly growing field of dermatology. Dr. Lombardi graduated with the highest awarded honors from Vassar College, where he pursued a degree in physics. He obtained his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College in New York City and completed his dermatology residency at the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Consortium in St. Louis. In addition, he also received post-graduate training as a resident at Stanford University Hospital in anesthesiology, learning perioperative and pain medicine techniques that have enhanced his understanding and capabilities in performing procedures with the patient's comfort in mind. Dr. Lombardi has an interest in dermatologic research and participated in the research realm of medical and physical science both before and after he became a physician. He is a published author in scientific literature, has presented at national meetings, and has been the main presenter for award winning team research at international meetings. Before beginning his residency he served as a research fellow in the Department of Dermatology at Cornell University Medical College studying the immune system of the skin. He has also performed research at other leading institutions including Columbia University's Department of Applied Physics, the NASA Johnson Space Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Most patients tend to describe Dr. Lombardi as good humored and easy going but he likes to think of himself in a more focused manner. "My goal is to leave the world a better place than I found it and have some fun along the way. To the extent that I can do that through my patients, my research and interests, and my children I will have led a successful life."

Care Philosophy: Over the past fifteen years, Dr Sokol's clinical and laboratory work has been focused on T-cell lymphomas and leukemias and rare lymphoproliferative and histiocytic disorders including Castleman disease, Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, Hemophagocytic LymphoHistiocytosis, Rosai-Dorfman Disease, etc. He has participated in numerous clinical trials for T cell malignancies including pivotal studies with romidepsin and mogamulizumab. He also led clinical research in T-cell and NK-cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (LGL). Dr Sokol has been the Co-Director of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Multidisciplinary Clinic for over 15 years. This clinic is the largest referral center for patients with cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) in the southeastern U.S.

Care Philosophy: Dr Chung's laboratory was among the first to recognize the importance of human papillomavirus (HPV) in the etiology of certain HNC as seen in one of the four subtypes in our molecular characterization study. Specifically the research showed that the most significantly deregulated genes in the HPV-positive tumors are cell cycle regulators. These data provided evidence that HPV-positive tumors may be more sensitive to chemotherapy and molecular inhibitors that specifically target cell cycle. In addition, her research findings contributed to establish the prognostic implication of the HPV status. Patients with HPV-positive HNC have a better prognosis compared to patients with HPV-negative HNC.
