Biography: Dr. Johnny Delashaw is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. His clinical interests are Skull Base Surgery, Open Cerebrovascular Surgery, Pituitary Surgery, and Spine. He has performed many complex cranial surgeries, including approximately 1,000 acoustic neuromas, 3,000 aneurysms, and 3,000 pituitary surgeries. Prior to coming to Tulane, he was Chairman of Neurosurgery at Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle (2013-2017), Professor and Chairman of Neurosurgery at University of California, Irvine (2012-2013), and Vice Chairman of Neurosurgery at Oregon Health Sciences University (1992-2012)). He has conducted numerous hands-on workshops teaching complex cranial surgery and has trained hundreds of residents and fellows. He has also performed numerous surgeries internationally in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Romania. Dr. Delashaw has published 127 peer-reviewed neurosurgical articles and multiple book chapters in neurosurgery textbooks. In addition to his passion for Neurosurgery, he enjoys fly-fishing and golf. He is excited to be part of the Tulane Faculty and carry on its tradition of clinical excellence.
