Care Philosophy: I am a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with expertise in fracture surgery and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. My goal is to listen to my patients, understand their goals, and strive to deliver the best possible outcome through conservative treatments and surgery when necessary. My practice specializes in acute extremity fractures, sports-related injuries, as well as the management of chronic ankle arthritis and foot deformities. Care Philosophy: Amy Beacom, M.D., is an orthopedic sports medicine physician at Summit Orthopedics specializing in nonsurgical treatment of knee, shoulder, hip, foot, and ankle concerns. She has a special interest in running and swimming injuries, and serves Minneapolis/St. Paul patients. Dr. Beacom completed a sports medicine fellowship at San Jose Medical Center. She is a team physician for the Minnesota Twins and USA Swimming. Longtime recipient of Top Doctor from Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Dr. Beacom is widely respected among fellow physicians and patients. Care Philosophy: Dr. Oberto-Medinas uncle was her pediatrician when she was a little girl and from a very early age she knew that she also wanted to become a doctor. As a caregiver to her parents, she has learned to navigate the medical system and understand what it is like to be in a patients' shoes. Her and her husband enjoy spending their free time outdoors; sailing, snowboarding and skiing. When she goes outside for a run, she is usually accompanied by her two dogs who love the exercise.
