Biography: Dr. Everton began her medical career serving military members and their families. After completing medical school at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, Dr. Everton interned at Scott Air Force base in Illinois, then completed a family medicine residency at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. She came to Barksdale Air Force base in 1994 where she quickly rose to Director of Emergency Services. Her career took her to Portugal, then to Alabama and New York before she chose to return to Shreveport-Bossier as a professor in family medicine and comprehensive care at LSU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Everton came to the Willis-Knighton Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care Center in 2012, where she has dedicated herself to improving the quality of life for patients. She earned her medical degree at the LSU School of Medicine in 2012 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Shreveport. Dr. Metoyer often offers her expertise at local health fairs and schools, focusing on her interests in prevention, education, and patient counseling. When not caring for patients, Dr. Metoyer enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is an active member of her church, serving as an usher, financial secretary and member of the board of trustees.
