Care Philosophy: I am a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). I completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Joint Replacement at Virginia Tech/Carilion Clinic. My training focused on anterior hip replacements, knee replacements, and complex hip and knee revision surgery.

Biography: As a family medicine doctor for over three decades, I am passionate about the promotion of people's well-being and being able to care for whole families and patients of all ages. I take pride in being a good listener and compassionate, nonjudgmental doctor. In addition to family medicine, I have particular interests in sports and geriatric medicine.

Care Philosophy: I enjoy working in all areas of orthopedics, but especially enjoy treating shoulder and elbow injuries. I find it gratifying to see highly motivated athletes and non-athletes alike return to pain-free activity. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling to northern Minnesota's lake country to fish.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Kalava is an internal medicine and geriatrics physician with special interests in dementia, fall prevention, polypharmacy, adult primary care, preventive medicine and community geriatric care. She believes in listening to patients, answering their questions and actively involving them in decision making.
