He received his B.S. in Biology, and also attended medical school at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, where he graduated with distinction. He then completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Iowa, and a residency in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital, part of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MA, and served as Chief Resident while there. ??Dr. Mehio also completed a fellowship at the University of Southern California in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. In addition to being published many times, Dr. Mehio has been the recipient of several awards and honors.
