Biography: Dr. McCann received his medical training at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. He performed his surgical training at Indiana University Medical Center before completing his anesthesia residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Additional specialty fellowships in spine care and pain management were completed at Texas Tech University Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with additional subspecialty certification in Pain Management, and is board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine.After training with leading international neurosurgeons, orthopedists and neurologists, he became a clinical professor at Baylor College of Medicine. While there, he established and was the director of the Interventional Spine Care Fellowship Program. In addition to current clinical duties, he continues to teach in the combined Baylor and University of Texas Spinal Surgery Fellowship Program. Dr. McCann is a member of the International Spine Interventional Society and serves on the Education Committee. He has served on the Executive Board of the Texas Orthopedic Hospital. He remains a spinal consultant for professional sports franchises and has been in practice in Houston since 1988.

Biography: Bradley Weiner, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon practicing in Houston, Texas with the Center for Advanced Spine and Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Weiner did his undergraduate education at Allegheny College with a degree in Analytic Philosophy. He subsequently attended medical school and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Summa Health Systems in Akron, Ohio. He then completed a fellowship in Spine Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, Australia. Since then, he has been engaged in the practice of spine surgery and multiple academic roles to include Chief of the Division of Spine Surgery at Penn State University followed over the past 17 years by roles at Houston Methodist Hospital to include: Professor (Weill Cornell, Texas A+M, Institute of Academic Medicine), Chief of Spine Surgery, Vice Chairman (Academics) of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Founding Residency Program Director of Orthopaedic Surgery. His research interests include basic science, clinical science, and evidence-based medicine. He has been the Principal Investigator or Medical Director on major basic science research programs aimed at orthopaedic tissue engineering and alternative diagnostics undertaken in the laboratory under his direction with extensive grant support via DARPA and the Department of Defense to develop novel treatments for severely injured soldiers. His clinical research is aimed at determining outcomes of surgical interventions for spinal disease, especially microsurgery. He has published over 200 papers and book chapters on these subjects; has won multiple research and teaching awards; and has served society and editorial roles nationally and internationally. His clinical practice is dedicated to the treatment of the broad spectrum of spinal disorders involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He is a leader in minimally invasive spinal microsurgery. In 2023, Dr. Weiner joined HCA Houston Healthcare, serves as Medical Director of Spine Surgery, and founded the Center for Advanced Spine and Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Weiner welcomes new patients and referrals. The practice offers telehealth visits when appropriate.

Biography: Pediatric Neurosurgeon, Dr. Allison Rathmann completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Pre-Med focus at the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University, both in Lexington, KY. She did her neurosurgery residency at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center, both in New Jersey; and a mini-fellowship in endoscopic endonasal surgery at Cornell University in New York. Dr. Rathmann also completed fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Rathmann is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Academy of Neurology, Women in Neurosurgery, and the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society. She was part of a research team concerning traumatic brain injury at the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center at the University of Kentucky, and her upcoming publications include chapters on Hydrocephalus and Slit Ventricle Syndrome in the Handbook of Pediatric Neurosurgery and an article on pediatric endonasal endoscopic neurosurgery.
