Biography: Dr. Byron Hapner has over 25 years of experience as an OB/GYN in South Jersey. He has been recognized as a Top Doc by Philadelphia Magazine yearly since 2015, as well as a Top Physician for Women by South Jersey Magazine. As a physician, Dr. Hapner feels it is a privilege to provide care to his patients at all stages of their lives. Dr. Hapner especially values the long-term relationships he has developed with his patients, and subsequently their friends and family members. His goal is to offer individualized, meaningful and comprehensive support and solutions. Dr. Hapner has a special interest in new and advanced surgical techniques. He is certified as a daVinci robotic surgeon, performing myomectomy (surgical removal of fibroids), hysterectomy and endometriosis treatment. Dr. Hapner is one of the few area physicians who has earned certification in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Medije Mashkulli is a Board Certified Pediatrician at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Mashkulli joined the pediatric faculty practice in 2020. She completed her residency at our institution in 2019. Dr. Mashkulli specializes in the care of newborns, NICU graduates, well children and adolescents, and children with chronic illnesses at the ambulatory pediatric center. Her passions include counseling first time moms and dads on the care of their newborn as well as guiding families with children who have recently emigrated to the United States. She enjoys providing mentorship to pediatric residents as well as contributing to the education of rotating medical students. She is committed to teaching future doctors general pediatrics and tailoring health plans for our patients across different cultural backgrounds. Dr. Mashkulli is proud to serve the surrounding communities of our hospital as she is a long time resident of Staten Island and a former volunteer at SIUH.
