Biography: Dr. Robert Greenberg, MD is an Orthopedic Surgery Specialist who practices in Smyrna, TN. He is 58 years old. Dr. Robert Greenberg, MD is affiliated with TriStar Stonecrest Medical Center.

He did his Residency and Internship in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. He was awarded his Medical Degree in 1998 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Mayfield's honors and awards include Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Mississippi, Gamma Beta Phi, and Phi Eta Sigma at Vanderbilt University. He was a 1990 National Merit Finalist. Dr. Mayfield was a member of the Carl G. Evers Society at the University of Mississippi where he established a Student/Faculty Mentor Program, and worked on a Professor Awards Banquet, Course Evaluation Protocols, and organized Primary Care Day for Medical Students. He has been a member of the Pharmacology Liaison Committee, the American Medical Association, and the Christian Medical/Dental Association Surgery Committee at The University of South Alabama. Dr. Mayfield and his wife have four children. He enjoys running, mountain biking, swimming, music (trumpet, guitar, and choir), computers, and reading.

I enjoy treating athletes from all walks of life - from the pediatric sports injury to the weekend warrior with arthritis pain, my focus is getting patients back to their sport and their passion. What few people recognize is that sports medicine is an integrated field that requires several moving parts: coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, primary care physicians, and orthopedic surgeons when needed. As a team physician for the University of South Alabama, I am again working with a team of experts who share a common goal: to keep athletes safe and to return them to the field after an injury.
