Biography: Dr. Joseph Bernardini is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon practicing in his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey for over 30 years. He is a graduate of St. Augustine Preparatory School and Villanova University. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. His orthopedic residency was completed at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Bernardini has been the Director of Orthopedics at the Vineland Development Center since 1979 and serves as the Vineland High School team physician. He is well versed in Orthopedic Spine Surgery and one the first physicians in the area with special training for Kyphoplasty, a minimally invasive technique used to treat spinal compression fractures. Dr. Bernardini also has extensive experience in total joint replacement of the knee and hip. Additionally, he is also experienced in arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, fracture management, basic hand and foot surgery and other areas of general orthopedics. Care Philosophy: As an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements, including the anterior hip approach, I strive to help patients get back to the activities that they enjoy most. Although joint replacement surgery may be the ultimate solution to arthritis for many patients, there are often non-operative treatments that can provide relief and improve quality of life. I enjoy getting to know my patients so that I can understand how arthritis affects their lives and so that we can discuss what treatment option best fits their individual goals. I earned my medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and completed a fellowship training in adult reconstruction in Scripps Clinic.
