She joined AdventHealth Medical Group from the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she had been serving as an assistant professor. An honors graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University in New York, she earned her medical degree and completed her residency at the University of Florida. During her residency, Dr. Cappleman undertook special training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery and earned multiple awards for clinical excellence and medical teaching. In her current practice, Dr. Cappleman provides obstetrical care for low- and moderate-risk pregnancies along with preventive and complex gynecologic care such as annual exams, family planning and contraception, and laparoscopic surgical procedures for benign gynecologic conditions.

Care Philosophy: I consider all women with complex benign conditions and gynecologic cancers can be helped. For some, it is a significant chance for cure with minimally invasive surgery, sometimes followed by chemotherapy and/or selective radiation therapy. For others it is radical pelvic and reconstructive surgery that may still be curative, or at least provide prolonged survival.
