Biography: Shalin Arnett, DO is committed to providing comprehensive care to women throughout all stages of their lives. Her clinical interests include both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, infertility, annual gynecological care and managing conditions such as abnormal periods, menopause, abnormal pap smears, STD screening, birth control and BRCA screening. Dr. Arnett attended medical school at Kansas City University and is board-certified by the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology. She chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology because she enjoys taking care of women throughout their lives and witnessing the growth of their families over the years. Her decision to practice at Riverview Health was influenced by its proximity to her family and its welcoming culture. Care Philosophy: ``My philosophy of care with my patients is we are a team, we are working on something together. If you come to me and expect me to just fix a problem, it might not happen. When it comes to your health, you have to participate and a lot of things are not fixable right away. I want my patients to understand that we don't have a magic wand. We need to set long-term health goals and work towards them as a team.``

So when a patient comes to me with an issue, I work to inform them on what we know about the condition and the treatment options that are now available. I want to be the expert for them, providing the information they need, but I want my patients to be a large part of the decision-making process regarding their care.``
