Care Philosophy: As a Family Physician since 1980, my experience is broad and varied. While I no longer deliver babies, my love for children makes any pediatric visit a special part of my work day. I feel that my medical training in the Navy, including the 4 years in Pensacola as an instructor for developing physicians, helped equip me for the largest part of my job, which is education. I feel it is critical to involve patients, and their families, in the understanding and management of their health as well as their illness. This is especially important for my seniors, so that we can all work together to help maintain their independence while maximizing safety. My office practice provides me the opportunity to care for patients with a wide variety of conditions, especially diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol issues, arthritis, and heart conditions. It is a particular goal of mine to try to keep patients out of the hospital, as I feel that a lot of good things happen in hospitals, but there are certainly risks as well. The better job we can do, together to maximize health, the better service I feel I am providing.

Care Philosophy: Faiyaaz Jhaveri, MD, is a board-certified urologist with advanced fellowship training in urologic oncology and prostate cancer. A past chairman of the Department of Surgery at AdventHealth Heart of Florida, he is an award-winning assistant professor of urology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and has been practicing urology for more than two decades in Washington and Florida. After graduating with honors from the University of Oregon, he earned his medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University and undertook his general surgery internship and residency at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Syracuse. He thereafter completed an elite urology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received the Pfizer Scholars in Urology Award before undertaking his fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Jhaveri has performed over 5,000 major and minor operative cases, including over 1,000 prostatectomies and over 1,000 nephrectomies.

Care Philosophy: Edward J. Kata, MD is a board-certified urologist who focuses on laparoscopic and robotic surgery, urologic oncology and the treatment of urinary incontinence and kidney diseases. He is a noted clinician and researcher with advanced training a in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, and he specializes in helping patients who are experiencing kidney disease, urinary incontinence and other complex urological issues. Dr. Kata received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed his residency training in urology and general surgery at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn.
