Biography: Daniel S. Yip, M.D., is a cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure and transplantation. Areas of clinical expertise include: Caring for patients with advanced heart failure Use of advanced medical therapies for the treatment of heart failure Use of advanced surgical therapies for the treatment of heart failure, such as mechanical circulatory support. This includes the evaluation and management of patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) Evaluation and management of patients who may benefit from heart transplantation In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Yip leads the Mayo Clinic campus in Florida's patient experience efforts. Other responsibilities include leading Mayo Clinic's patient experience surveying across all sites. Dr. Yip is also a member of the Communication in Healthcare faculty, delivering courses and consultation to improve communication between health care providers and patients, as well as among health care providers.
