Care Philosophy: My philosophy is simple: the patient comes first. As part of the Genitourinary Oncology Program at Weill Cornell Medicine, I am committed to delivering the best care to my patients. Our world-class multidisciplinary team ensures that we treat the patient as a whole, not just the cancer. I am driven by the desire to improve therapy of urological malignancies by identifying the genetic "Achilles heel" of each patient's cancer. Through my research, I am committed to developing "precision medicine" approaches and conducting clinical trials for treatment of bladder cancer and other genitourinary malignancies.

Care Philosophy: My clinical interests include working with children with various blood disorders, such as sickle cell anemia, blood clotting disorders, and rare disorders called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms. I find it a privilege to be able to help families deal with their children's complex medical issues. By combining excellent, compassionate medical care with research aimed at improving outcomes and preventing disease-associated complications, I believe that we can make a difference for children with cancer and blood disorders.

Biography: Nora Chokr, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine/ NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She specializes in the care of patients with blood disorders who are in need of bone marrow or stem cell transplantation or cellular-based therapies, like chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. Dr. Chokr received her medical degree from the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon in 2015. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and her Hematology/Oncology fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she served as a Chief Fellow. Subsequently, she completed an advanced fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Effector Cell Therapy at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM)/NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Hospital. Upon completion of this advanced fellowship training, Dr. Chokr was recruited to join the faculty of the WCM/NYP Bone Marrow Transplantation Program. Dr. Chokr's main research interests focus on increasing transplant access and optimizing outcomes in older patients. Her interests also include the prevention of disease relapse and graft vs host disease after transplant. Dr. Chokr is an investigator for several clinical trials that aim to advance the field. She has publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals, and is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), ASTCT Aging Special Interest Group, Cancer and Aging Research Group (CARG). Dr. Chokr is also involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Biography: Dr. Kari Whitley is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She graduated from Rutgers College and received her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she was the administrative chief resident. She completed her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Throughout her career, Dr. Whitley has won awards for teaching, excellence in patient care, and research.

Biography: Dr. Rosenzweig is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Pediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Rosenzweig completed her undergraduate work at Emory University. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She conducted her residency in Pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the joint program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and NewYork-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.Dr. Rosenzweig specializes in treating children and adolescents with leukemia and lymphoma, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.Dr. Rosenzweig's clinical and research interests lie in identifying new treatments for children with leukemia. She is particularly interested in identifying novel targeted therapies. She is a member of the Children's Oncology Group.

Biography: Dr. Prabhu cares for women with all aspects of a high-risk pregnancy. She specializes in high-risk maternal medical conditions, including congenital and acquired cardiac disease, hypertension and preeclampsia, lupus, and thrombophilia and hematologic complications of pregnancy.She performs obstetric ultrasound and amniocentesis for prenatal diagnosis, and cervical cerclage placement for women at risk of premature birth. She also cares for women with twins and triplets, and performs twin vaginal deliveries ncluding breech extractions.Dr. Prabhu is a board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and board eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She completed her residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and her fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. After working in the division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Women and Infants Hospital at Brown University, she was excited to join the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Prabhu is from Greenville, SC, and received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, and her medical degree from Stanford University.

Biography: Dr. Gulati obtained her medical degree from Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai, India, followed by a pediatrics residency at SUNY Downstate Medical center. She completed my pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the joint program between New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She then went on to complete a year of specialized training in Pediatric lymphoma and Histiocytosis at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital Cancer and Hematology Centers in Houston, Texas. Dr. Gulati subsequently joined the lymphoma and histiocytosis team as an Assistant professor and worked there between 2019-2023.Dr. Gulati's research and clinical interests focus on identifying pathogenic mechanisms of pediatric lymphoma and histiocytosis through collaborative and comprehensive research projects that look at the histologic, molecular, and genomic features of these diseases with the ultimate goal of identifying potential novel therapeutic targets.Dr. Gulati is an active member of the pediatric non-Hodgkin lymphoma committee of the children's oncology group and serves as the vice-chair on the upcoming first of its kind trial for relapsed L.C.H. conducted by the C.O.G. She is an active member of the North American Consortium for Histiocytosis (NACHO) and a steering committee member of the INTO-HLH.

Biography: Dr. Julianne Lauring is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She graduated from Boston University and received her M.D. from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.She was the Associate Residency Program Director for OB/GYN at Umass Chan Medical school from 2018 to 2020. She was awarded the faculty teaching award at Umass Memorial Health in 2019. She assumed the role of Maternity Center Medical Director at Umass Memorial Health in 2020. During her time, she implemented a significant number of quality improvement projects that improved patient care and patient experience.She is excited to join the team at Weill Cornell Medicine to continue the ongoing work. She is particularly interested in improving the ways we provide care while also enhancing the patient experience and reducing health disparities.

Biography: Amer Assal MD is a board certified medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in the use of autologous and allogeneic bone marrow stem cell transplantation for the treatment of multiple myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes and other bone marrow disorders. Dr. Assal completed his medical education and internal medicine training at NYU School of Medicine. He was also a hospitalist in the department of medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center caring for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses, including stem cell transplant patients. Dr. Assal completed a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he also served as chief fellow. He finally completed a fellowship in blood and marrow stem cell transplantation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His research interests center around improving outcomes of stem cell transplantation and the diseases it is used to treat. He has a particular interest in immunotherapy and studying ways to harness the immune system to attack tumor cells, while at the same time decreasing the risk of graft versus host disease. He is also interested in studying therapeutic interventions to prevent and treat relapse of disease after stem cell transplantation. He has presented his research at several national conferences and was awarded an American Society of Hematology Abstract Achievement award for his research.
