Biography: Arthur Johnson, MD, FACS, is a graduate of the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC. He trained in surgery and critical care at EVMS in Norfolk, VA and completed a general surgery residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA. I love performing outpatient anorectal procedures that can drastically improve a patient's quality of life, as well as abdominal and rectal surgery for cancer, diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease, robotic surgery, hernia repairs and endoscopy. \n My approach to healthcare starts with being a careful listener. I spend the time necessary to hear a patient's concerns, evaluate their symptoms and review treatment options with them. I pride myself on staying up to date on the latest research and in taking a team approach to treatment by discussing a patient's care with their primary as well as with consulting physicians and providers. \n I balance the science of reaching a diagnosis with the art of providing more than one treatment option.
